KEO was involved in the development and retrofitting of 2 new schools for ADEC as part of the Future Schools Program Phase 5. This involved the design of a new prototype school – Model 4, to cater for Cycle 2 & 3 (grades 6 to 12) classes for 2100 students.
The Abu Dhabi Future School Program was launched for the purpose of enhancing the educational infrastructure and improving learning within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The schools are planned to serve the inhabitants of the newly completed Al Falah community by Al Dar in Abu Dhabi.
The Model 4 Design strives to keep the essence of ADEC’S vision that education should be organized around teaching and learning for individual students in lieu of classes and groups.
Each school 70 classrooms, science labs, an indoor swimming pool (4 lane, 25 m long), library, cafeteria (700 seats), multi-purpose gymnasium (with stage & 700 seats), music rooms, art rooms with kiln, special education program rooms, supporting Administration and teaching facilities. In addition, there are outdoor facilities like
sports fields, assembly areas, and other outdoor seating areas.
