Al Merief Development

Al Merief Development is an Emirati Community located in Abu Dhabi, Khalifa City, a unique non-gated community combining Emirati traditions with the very best in modern amenities, over 69 hectares with 283 villa plots, apartment plots, plots for mosques, a school, retail, and community amenities connected by a network of roads and open spaces. Al Merief is about a sense of place, a sense of community with a village center with a Friday Mosque, school, community and retail amenities KEO along with its Allied Practices, InSite and C-Quest were engaged as lead consultant to provide Infrastructure and Public Realm Design, preparation of tender documentation, cost consultancy, tendering services and Construction services to satisfy the requirements of Estidama Pearl Rating.

Infrastructure Design: Design of roads, LED street lighting network, storm water drainage system, signage/ way finding, traffic control system and traffic signage. Other system designs included wastewater collection and disposal, potable water and firefighting, irrigation and TSE (tank, pumping station and network), power supply, waste management, natural gas supply, telecommunication, district cooling network systems and structural site elements.

Our multi-disciplinary offering enabled integration and coordination of the designs and transition into construction deploying a ‘Reach Forward, Reach Back’ process. The ‘Reach Forward’ has the construction team in the design process so to understand the design vision, and intent.

The ‘Reach Back’ has design teams attend regular site meetings and problem solve issues allowing for an efficient construction process.
