Shadadiyah Campus, Kuwait

College of Architecture

Kuwait University

A new college planned for 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students, bringing together three existing colleges into one new “design” center of excellence.

The 3 existing colleges that have been amalgamated into one location include: a) the College of Architecture, and currently operates from two campuses; b) the Architectural Engineering School in the Khaldiya Campus; and c) the Visual Communications & Interiors School in the Adailiyah Campus.

The move to the new Sabah Al-Salem Campus at Shadadiyah will open a new chapter in the life of these 3 Colleges. It will be a college created specifically for students of design and will provide opportunities for a fully integrated environment with a rich variety of learning and social spaces that can be shared by all in a truly collaborative manner.

The new facilities for the College of Architecture and College of Computer Science & Engineering will also have a wider role in establishing the place of the design disciplines both at Kuwait University and across Kuwait’s Society, as a center of debate and a place for the exhibition
of talent.

The project design followed a two-stage program with HOK and its consultants completing Stage 1 through to the end of Schematic Design. KEO’s brief was to support Stage 1 and then taking over the Stage 2 works for all disciplines from Design Development Stage through to completion of tender documentation. KEO provided the QS services for all stages and is the appointed construction stage consultant.
