Largest Mall in Qatar

Mall Of Qatar

Doha, Qatar

World-class shopping, outstanding dining and unique entertainment is what makes Mall of Qatar (MOQ) one of the most unique malls built.

The MOQ is a 500,000m2 retail development, on a plot of 282,000m2, with 500 retail outlets, more than 100 food and beverage restaurants, a 19-screen theatre complex, 7,000 underground and surface car parking spaces and a five-star 200-bedroom hotel operated by Curio, a collection by Hilton. It is the largest shopping mall in Qatar located 20 kilometers west of Doha city with its own metro station.

The mall’s exterior is marked by its ‘jeweled’ façade, giving the whole project a memorable design motif and a striking presence that is dramatically lit at night. One of the most striking features in the mall is the ‘Oasis,’ a 5,000sqm landscaped arena with a 30-m-high 6,000sqm glass dome with fountains and waterfalls.

The space is landscaped with planted beds and tree-like support structures. Walkways
are attractively curved, and a food court with 2,600 seating capacity overlooks onto a unique entertainment feature, a revolving 360-degree multi-lift stage on which entertainment is provided year-round.

KEO was contracted as the Lead Consultant, providing Detailed Architectural and Engineering Designs, Tender Documentation, and Construction Supervision Service. A major challenge was for KEO to support the vast number of changes required during the construction stage to accommodate procurement strategies in what was a very compressed schedule working side by side with the contractor throughout.
