PAAET Sabah Al Ahmed New Campus

Streets play a critical role in linking our urban environments helping people move in an orderly manner. The campus design redefines the ground floor level up to Level 1 with an Elevated Street making the buildings easier to navigate vertically providing safe, protected, and air-conditioned entries from the parking zones. By orienting all the campus buildings along the East-West axis, they optimally promote strategies to reduce energy consumption, provide natural shading to courtyard spaces.

The masterplan situates the male colleges at the northern half of the site with Female Colleges on the southern half. The buildings are each G + 4 o double loaded corridors with atriums overlooking the Courtyards. The Elevated Street links all the buildings together with dynamic glass bridges.

Dining Halls, Gymnasium, Auditorium, and Lecture Hall are in the Central Building. The Administrative buildings are north and south of the central building.

Each building is a simple bar-like structure with the northern façade fully glazed, southern façade partially glazed, and east/west façade minimally glazed. Each building has a unique entry feature with a large canopy providing easy visual recognition and shade to those entering. The campus has an Energy Center. Parking has been gender segregated for ease of operations with a ceremonial entry to the Auditorium for special VIP functions. The plan has dedicated entrance/exits for staff and service entries.
